Send a Revit view straight into an AI render

A VotexArch tab appears in your Revit ribbon with a Send View button. Click it, choose which VotexArch workspace to land on, save the PNG, and your browser opens on that tab ready for the upload.

Revit + pyRevit (free) -- no compiling
What the button does

Exports the active Revit view to a PNG you choose the location for, then opens VotexArch on your chosen tab.

Why it works this way

Built on pyRevit, the free and widely used scripting framework, rather than a compiled C# add-in. Revit has no built-in scripting console, so pyRevit is what closes that gap — install it once and this plugin is a single Python file. No .NET SDK, no Visual Studio, no compiling.

Getting it installed

  1. 01

    Install pyRevit

The free framework this plugin runs on. One install, and it covers any pyRevit extension you add later.

  2. 02

    Drop in the extension folder

Copy the VotexArch.extension folder from the download into %APPDATA%\pyRevit\Extensions\, creating that folder if it does not exist. pyRevit’s own Extension Manager can add the folder instead if you prefer.

  3. 03

    Reload Revit

pyRevit tab → Reload, or restart Revit. A VotexArch tab appears with a Send View button.

Before you start

Newly released. This was built against pyRevit’s and the Revit API’s documented behavior rather than tested inside a live Revit install, so treat your first run as the real test — if something misbehaves, send us the error and we will correct it.

No Revit to hand?

Every tool works by uploading an image directly — the plugin only saves you the trip.
